My name is Abigail McKay Cherry
Abigail McKay Cherry is a full lyric soprano based in Metro Detroit, Michigan. Known for her expressive sound and versatility, she has performed leading roles including the Governess (The Turn of the Screw), Eva Crowley (An American Dream), and Lady Billows (Albert Herring). With roots in choral and sacred music, Abigail is a staff singer at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul in Detroit. She sang three seasons with the Detroit Concert Choir, winners of the 1996 Choir of the World competition. She holds a BM from Oakland University and an MM and Certificate of Vocology from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Dr. Brian Gill. She is a recipient of the Sarah Joan Tuccelli-Gilbert Memorial Fellowship in Voice.
